Seasons Change

Summer is now gone.
Quickly, winter draws near.
Are you ready for this season
That seems so cold and drear?

Leaves begin to drop.
Flowers continue to fade.
The grass will soon wither
Each stem and blade.

It’s hard to imagine
Summer, so quickly flown.
Where have all those long
Lazy days of summer gone?

That’s how it is with life.
It seems summer will always be here.
Then one day we discover
Winter is drawing near.

But when it comes to life
Though days shorten as we grow old
We can always live in God’s Son
And our hearts need never grow cold.
