NEWSLETTER ARCHIVE

Good Morning Everyone,

Greetings on this beautiful Monday morning. I have so much to thank the Lord for today. As many of you know, yesterday was the last Sunday of our church year. I went to church yesterday morning looking at better than $12,000 in church budgets owed for the year. (I was looking in the wrong place!) A challenge had gone out and someone had offered to match dollar for dollar everything given Sunday for budgets. The good news is, we raised all the money. To God be the Glory! All our budgets are paid for the year, and we start out the new church year in the black. God is so good, and the people of South Flint are to be commended for their sacrificial giving and love for the Lord. I don't know what other pastors think of their churches, but this pastor feels he is pastoring the absolute best church in the world. We are on the move, and I can't wait to see what God is going to do in the weeks and months ahead.

Sunday was also special because we were able to give out the "Distinguished Service Award" to a very special lady by the name of Viola Rhoads. Vi has been a great example to all of us and has served our church in many different areas over the years. We are so proud of her and pray God continues to bless and make her fruitful for Him. Sunday morning my message was on, "What We Can Learn From our Older People." Sunday night we continued our series on "When Life Doesn't Turn Out the Way You Expect." We shared on "How to Deal with Death and Loss in Your Life." Sunday night's message should be up on the website later tonight. I hope you take the time to listen to this practical message and the truth it contains.

This morning I want to say, everyone experiences rough times in your life. We realized that from our study Sunday night. Although your trials may be difficult, you must realize that you already have everything you need to triumph over them. 1st John says, "Whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world" and I believe that this morning. God gives you His might so that you can overcome and be successful. I think might is God-given ability to overcome anything that sets itself against you. David used might against Goliath. Elijah used might against the prophets of Baal. Daniel used might and wisdom to read the handwriting on the wall. And today, God has His might available for you. Isaiah says, "To those who have no might, God increases strength." Hold on to that promise this week. He's a Mighty God and all things are possible through Him. Praise His Name.

Till next time, Pastor Don

P.S. Listed below are the results of this year's church elections. Thanks to all of you who allowed your name to run. We believe God has spoken and leadership has been elected through the votes of God's people.
