NEWSLETTER ARCHIVE

Good Morning Church Family,

Greetings on this cold Monday morning. We had a chilly day at church yesterday. I don't think it got warmer than 62 degrees in the sanctuary all day, yet the boiler was running full blast. The cold and wind chill kept some people home but certainly not everyone. Even with attendance being down, we had a good day in the Lord. Yesterday was "Sanctity of Life Sunday." My message in the morning was "A Voice for the Unborn." Sunday night I preached on "The Invisible War." I think I'll have Andrew add the Sunday night sermon to our website this week. I hope you listen to it. It's a great message on Spiritual Warfare.

This morning I want to share just a couple verses from Psalm 24. David asks, "Who may ascend unto the hill of the Lord? and Who may stand in God's holy place?" He gives us the answer in verse 4. "It is the person who has clean hands and a pure heart. The one who does not lift up his soul to idols or swear by what is false." I believe that is God's requirement for those who would have an audience with Him.

I want you to notice that "clean hands" will not suffice, unless they are connected with a "pure heart." True religion is heart-work. We may wash the outside of the cup as long as we please, but if the inside is filthy, we are filthy altogether in the sight of God. Actually, our heart speaks of the inner man and what we really are and not our hands. The very life of our being lies in the inner nature, so it is important that we are pure within. The pure in heart shall see God - all others have been blinded.

In closing, clean hands speak of righteous conduct and a pure heart of Godly character and right motives. The person who lives that way will always receive the blessing of the Lord. My prayer is that you will be blessed this week. Let's walk in the light of His love.

Till next time, Pastor Don

P.S. Don't forget, our free tutoring program begins this week on Wednesday night beginning at 5:30pm. All students from elementary through high school can come and receive help. We have 3 certified teachers there waiting to help you.

Also this coming Sunday night is "Leave it to Beaver" night. Service will be in the fellowship hall so come watch a couple episodes of the Cleaver Family. Pastor's message will be about Beaver Cleaver. We will also be serving chili that evening for $2 per bowl. This money will be used to help send our kids to summer camp this summer.

P.S.S. THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:

No matter what you're going through -- There is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Light at the end of the tunnel
