NEWSLETTER ARCHIVE

Well, Good Morning Everyone,

We had quite a day yesterday. Even with all the snow and bad weather, we had 119 in morning worship and I was glad I went to church. Thanks to Nancy Wheeler for doing a very nice job with our Children's Christmas Program! The children were such a blessing to us, and I appreciate many of you coming out and supporting them. They are our future. Because of the weather, church was cancelled last night. That gave Susan and I an opportunity to have some people over for food and fellowship and to get to know them a little better.

For a thought this morning I want to share some things I read in a devotional recently. The devotional was called, "God Will Bring You Through." It is taken from Acts 27:14 which says, "But not long after that there arose against us a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon." This is Paul speaking of a typhoon he faced while sailing to Italy. There are 4 truths I want you to get from this story. It may do you well to read the whole 27th chapter of Acts.

#1 To reach your goal, you'll have to go through some storms. There will be days when you wonder if you will make it, but by God's grace you will.

#2 Storms reveal how well you know God. It's the tough times that reveal the strength of our God connection.

#3 God can make a success out of a shipwreck. Notice some things in this story:
     A. Sometimes you'll have to throw stuff overboard. V-18
     B. In spite of your best efforts, you'll occasionally run aground. V-41
     C. You must remember what God told you and stand on it. V-25

#4 Often the worst thing that could have happened turns out for the best. God used this shipwreck to reach Malta with the Gospel.

So today, stop worrying! God will provide what you need in ways that amaze you. If you're His child, you're not the victim of circumstances. Your future is not in the hands of people, but rather it's in the hands of God -- And what He owns, He takes care of! I know this little message is for someone. If it has helped or blessed you, drop me a note and let me know. God bless each of you.

Always Expecting God's Best, Pastor Don

P.S. The church board meeting that was cancelled Sunday night has been rescheduled for Tuesday night at 7pm. If you cannot make it, please call the office and let Andrew know.
