Good Morning Everyone,
Fall is in the air and your pastor and Susan are
back from our weekend in Louisville. We had a
wonderful time at the National Quartet
Convention. We heard a lot of great music, spent
some time with friends we don't see often, and
worshiped with our pastor friend Tony Rose at
LaGrange Baptist Church in LaGrange, Kentucky. I
heard we had good services and some really good
messages. Thanks, Pastor Shawn, for bringing a
challenging message on being a productive
follower of Christ. Thanks, Pastor Karren, for
your plain and understandable message Sunday
night on being sanctified. In fact, thanks to
all the staff for filling in for me and having a
part in our services. It's great to take a
couple days off and have confidence in your
staff and know that they will lead the church in
a meaningful worship experience. Hopefully both
services were recorded and we will have them up
on our website sometime tonight. I am anxious to
hear them.
For a thought this morning let me share
Philippians 4:6 with you. "Do not be anxious
about anything, but in everything, by prayer and
petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving,
present your request to God." Paul is saying
don't worry or anguish about things in your
life. That means financial things, physical
things, or even relationships. But in everything
he says we should do 3 things - Pray,
Supplicate, and offer Thanks to God for
delivering you. When Paul and Silas were in
prison, it says at about midnight they began to
pray. They began to petition God with a mighty
prayer service. They prayed such a prayer that
it began to make them rejoice. Your pastor
believes true prayer will always do that. Their
prayers led to praise and praise led to a mighty
deliverance from God Himself.
So in closing remember, that's the kind of
prayer you need when you are in your midnight
and darkest hour. Pray a prayer that leads you
to praise and God will bring you out just like
He delivered Paul and Silas.
O Lord, we give you all our hurts and all our
fears. You are God and You are more than able
take care of us. We praise You this morning for
answers to prayer. You are a mighty God. Amen.
Till next time, Pastor Don
P.S. We want to invite all of you to meet at the
church tonight at 7pm for Revival Prayer. God is
already working and moving and something
wonderful is going to happen.
I am also very excited about having missionaries
Don & Cheryl Cox with us this coming Saturday
and Sunday. You won't want to miss these
missionaries and their incredible story. Hope to
see you all at the dinner on Saturday at 5:30pm.
Saturday's service time is 7pm if you can't make
it to the dinner.
JOKE OF THE WEEK:
A LOCAL PRIEST AND A PASTOR STOOD BY THE SIDE OF
THE ROAD HOLDING UP A SIGN THAT SAID, "THE END
IS NEAR! TURN YOURSELF AROUND NOW BEFORE IT'S
TOO LATE." THEY PLANNED TO HOLD UP THE SIGN TO
EACH PASSING CAR. "LEAVE US ALONE YOU RELIGIOUS
NUTS!" YELLED THE FIRST DRIVER AS HE SPED BY.
FROM AROUND THE CURVE THEY HEARD A BIG SPLASH.
"DO YOU THINK," SAID ONE CLERGY TO ANOTHER, "WE
SHOULD JUST PUT UP A SIGN THAT SAYS, 'BRIDGE
OUT' INSTEAD?"
