Good Morning Church Family,
Your pastor was very excited yesterday about the
great services we had. I have to say I'm
thankful God spoke to my heart and changed my
mind about the Sunday morning message. It was a
blessing to see a full altar and people seeking
God for revival. And what can I say about Sunday
night! Once testimonies started, it seemed like
God just took over. We were blessed by so many
wonderful testimonies and to hear how God is
working and answering prayer. I believe revival
is on the way, and I believe the Lord has heard
us pray! Keep it up church!
I want to give you one verse out of I John this
morning. I John 4:4 says, "You dear children,
are from God, and have overcome them. (Evil
Spirits) Because greater is the one who is in
you than the one who is in the world." You know
when you came to Christ and made a decision to
follow Him -- Satan didn't walk away, throw up
his hands and go out of business. He is
committed to foul up your life so he can prove
to God and the world that Christianity doesn't
work. I believe it's his way of getting back at
God.
God has an answer for that and it's found in the
verse above. We have something in us that gives
us power. We don't have to be a defenseless
hockey puck at the mercy of Satan and his
demons. God has already supplied the protection
you need to ward off any and every attack in the
spiritual realm. Your best defense is to stay
close to God and live in the Word of God. You
can also overcome the evil one by the blood of
the Lamb and by the word of your testimony. I
think some Christians are paranoid and fearful
about Satan, his power, and the forces of
spiritual darkness. We don't have to be. Trust
delivers us from fear. Perfect love casts out
all fear, my Bible says. In fact, our
relationship to demonic powers in the spiritual
realm is a lot like our relationship to germs in
the physical realm. We know that germs are
everywhere: in the air, in the water, in our
food, in other people, even is us. But do we
live in constant fear of catching some disease?
No -- unless you're a hypochondriac! We know
about wellness: eating right, getting enough
rest and exercising. If you live a balanced life
with priorities in order, your immune system
will protect you. It's the same in the spiritual
realm. Demons are like little invisible germs
looking for someone to infect. We are never told
in Scripture to be afraid of them. We just need
to be aware of their reality, trust God, and
live a righteous life in spite of them.
Remember, they are only liars who plant seeds of
doubt in our minds. But God gives us the truth
and equips us with authority and protection to
deal with them.
"Dear Father, thank you for providing my needs.
I choose to live for you today and will walk in
the light of Your love. I renounce Satan's lies
and choose righteousness today. In Jesus Name.
AMEN."
Till next time, Pastor Don
P.S. Starting September 10th and each Monday
until our Revival, we will be meeting at the
church to pray specifically for Revival and to
intercede for the lost. I hope you can come and
be a part.
P.S.S. JOKE OF THE WEEK:
A man in Topeka, Kansas, decided to write a book
about churches around the country. He started by
flying to San Francisco and began working east
from there. Going into a very large church, he
began taking photographs and making notes. He
spotted a golden telephone on the vestibule wall
and was intrigued by a sign which read "$10,000
a minute."
Seeking out the pastor, he asked about the phone
and the sign. The pastor told the man that the
golden phone was, in fact, a direct line to
Heaven and if he paid the price he could talk
directly to God. The man thanked the pastor and
continued on his way. As he continued to visit
churches in Seattle, Austin, Chicago, Atlanta,
and around the United States, he found more
phones with the same sign, and received the same
answer from each pastor.
Finally, he arrived in Michigan. Upon entering a
church outside of Flint, Michigan, he saw the
usual golden telephone. But THIS time, the sign
read: "25 cents a minute."
Fascinated, he asked to talk to the pastor right
away. "Reverend, I have been in cities all
across the country and in each church I have
found this golden telephone. I have been told it
is a direct line to Heaven and that I could call
there and talk to God, but in the other churches
the cost was $10,000 a minute. Your sign reads
25 cents a minute. Why?" The pastor, smiling
brightly replied, "Son, you're in Michigan now.
It's a local call."
