Good Morning Church,

It's always good to greet you. I realize this morning that July is about gone and August is upon us. Summer for many of us will be over in a few short weeks and school will be starting up. Where does the time go? We had a good service yesterday morning. There was a lot of excitement and God's presence was in the service. I enjoyed preaching on "Relief From the Financial Strain." My prayer is that God helped each of us as we received His Word yesterday.

Sunday night found many of us as Eastern Michigan District Campgrounds for the final service of District Campmeeting 2007. The highlight for me was Brian Arner's rendition of "The End of The Beginning." It was a powerful song that brought people to their feet. Rev. Norman Moore shared a great message from the Book of Romans and people were very reverent to hear the Word of God.

This morning, I give you one verse of scripture found in James 4:8. "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." God wants us to have time with Him. He puts the responsibility on us to make the first move. He wants us to want Him, and so He waits for us with open arms hoping that we will run to Him. The promise for us is sure. If we draw near to Him He will be there for us. He won't run away. He won't hurt us. He won't ignore us. He won't abandon us. But He will listen and give us His time. He is the perfect friend and Father, and He always has all the time we could ever need. And the best part of all is, when we draw hear to Him, He has the power to effect change, move mountains, and truly impact our lives immediately and directly. It is such a privilege to be a child of God. Have a great week "Drawing Near to Him."

And Sunday morning at 10:30 will be a great worship service both for adults in the sanctuary and children in Kidz Church.
