Good Morning Church Family,
It's good to be back home and to greet you this
week. As many of you know, Susan and I have been
on a few days of vacation. I understand we were
down in attendance, but I heard good reports on
Nathan's Sunday morning message. If you weren't
there, you can find it on our website later
tonight. It was a great message about
priorities, our resources, and what should
really be important to us. Even though Susan and
I sat in a Sunday morning worship service in
another church, my heart was at South Flint, and
I stopped several times and asked God to bless
our people and help the man delivering God's
Word. Thanks to all the staff and people who
filled in while I was gone.
Anyway, we are back in the office and ready to
get back at it. This morning, I want to talk to
you about prayer -- and really not just prayer
but confidence in prayer. The writer of Hebrews
says in Chapter 4:16 says that we should
approach the throne of grace with confidence, so
that we may receive mercy and find grace to help
us in our time of need. Without confidence, you
won't find God's mercy, grace, and help. Chapter
10:19 says that we have confidence to enter the
most Holy place by the blood of Jesus. If the
blood of Jesus has not been applied to your
life, then it is impossible for you to have
confidence in what God can do. Where is your
confidence this morning? I think for some the
missing element for prayer success is confidence
in God.
We can only have confidence in our prayer life
when we know that what we are praying for is
something that God desires to bring to pass.
There are only two places to go to discover what
God wants for your life -- the Bible and being
in His Presence. I encourage each of you to get
into God's Word and desire to be in His
presence. If we don't know what the Bible has to
say about our situation, then our prayers will
be fear-based and they won't get results.
So remember, God loves you and gave you His Word
so that you can have results in your prayer
life. Have a great week living in confidence.
Till next time, Pastor Don
P.S. Please be in prayer for our district
