NEWSLETTER ARCHIVE

Good Monday Morning,

May God's Grace and Peace be evident in your life today. Pastor Karren is bringing this Monday Morning Newsletter to you, and it is my hope that you will be encouraged by all that is taking place here at South Flint.

In our Sunday morning service we received an excellent message by Pastor June from John 17. What a great reminder she gave us that it is God's desire for us to be "One" and to be "Unified." This is, as the scripture tells us, so that the world would believe that God sent Jesus. May we take those words to heart, trusting our Savior to fill us with a love that will equip us to love one another as Christ loved us! Thank you, Pastor Sarah, for leading worship and to all who participated in the Service. It is evident that God is glorified through your obedience to Him.

The following devotional thought for today is taken from "Reflecting God" by Dan Boone titled "A Fresh Coat of Paint."

Recently my wife, Denise and I moved from our home of 14 years. As we got our house ready to show and sell, the memories poured in. We fixed the hole in the wall from an overzealous game of chase with the kids. We painted over handprints on almost every wall. We peeled the wallpaper from the room that had once been our youngest daughter's nursery. We had shared many great times in this house - and it showed.

But Hezekiah had the opposite problem. He wasn't repairing an overused and well-loved temple; the temple of the Lord had been neglected and the doors were falling off the hinges. Enough! Says Hezekiah. We can't turn back time, but we can repaint the doors. Light the incense, make things right now! Let's get this building ready for worship.

You can bet Hezekiah is hoping the next time they repaint; it will be to cover up the many handprints. The next time they fix the front steps, it will be because of heavy traffic. The Bible says that God makes your heart His home. How does your home look? Is it collecting dust? Are spider webs taking over? Maybe it's time for a spruce up. Mmmm, can you smell that? It smells like incense . . . and paint.

Have a Blessed Week! In Christ's Love,
Pastor Karren

P.S. Don't forget this week is VBS - Monday the 25th through Friday June 29th from 6:30-8:30 pm. Saturday will be our "Family Fun Day" starting at 11am. Sunday morning will be a combined service starting at 10:30am
