NEWSLETTER ARCHIVE

Good Morning Everyone,

I enjoy coming to you each Monday morning with church news, inspiration, a little humor, and especially what the Lord is doing in the life of the church. It was a great Mother's Day service yesterday. We had 177 in attendance, another great offering, and a good message on "A Mother's Commitment." It was wonderful to have so many mothers with us in the service. All the Sunday morning sermons are on our website in streaming audio if you would enjoy listening to them (www.southflintnazarene.org/sermons).

On Sunday night we continue having classes on Holiness, Evangelism, and Studies in the Book of James. I especially enjoyed preaching and sharing from James Chapter 4. We had some really good testimonies Sunday night as well.

This morning, I was thinking about one verse of scripture and a funeral that I conducted on Friday. The verse of scripture is found in II Corinthians 2:14 which says, "Thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him." Paul is talking about Christians leaving a sweet wholesome fragrance everywhere they go. Our lives should have influence and affect upon people. It should be like the fragrance of fresh flowers in a room.

As I held the memorial service for Viola Eddy on Friday, I was thinking about her life as one of the dear saints of God. An interesting thing about saints is that long after their outward appearance begins to degenerate due to aging, accidents, or disease, a glorious aroma still radiates to the world. The faith and love they have for God never dies or disintegrates. And long after they leave this world, they leave an aroma that continues to live on. I pray that will be so in our lives today. Leave a heritage of faithfulness that will help and bless others.

I hope you have a terrific week. We have many things going on in the life of the church.
