NEWSLETTER ARCHIVE

Good Morning Church Family,

What a day we had yesterday! I challenge anyone to try and discount what the Lord is doing at South Flint. Honestly, we have about doubled in attendance in 2 yrs. Today in worship we had 176. It was a blessing to honor our babies during our special "Baby Day." My message was, "How to Raise a Good Child in a Bad World." We had an incredible offering, and on Saturday, our board retreat was excellent and refreshing as we talked about our future. I am thankful for leadership who is on board with me and for the fact that we are preparing for our future. I hope to deliver a message soon about my vision for the church and where we plan to be in the next 2 years.

This morning, there are 2 verses I want to share with you. In Lamentations Chapter 1, God told Israel that some of the reason they were in the condition they were in was because they did not consider the future. I don't want that to be said of us. We must get beyond the past and plan and prepare for our future. Quite honestly, our future is very bright. Also, God's Word says in Proverbs 29:18 that when there is no vision, the people perish. That word "vision" is really talking about spiritual understanding and discernment. This pastor, the staff, and our church board needs both spiritual understanding and discernment to plan for the future and find the Lord's will for South Flint. All I know this morning is that whatever we have been doing, God sure has blessed. The plan is to stay on track, keep the importance on intercessory prayer, and work with excellence. I hope you will join me as we experience some of the greatest days South Flint has ever had. I appreciate your prayers and value your friendships. Keep up the good work church.

Till next time, Pastor Don

P.S. A couple things I want you to remember. Pastor June is flying out of Flint to Bulgaria this afternoon. Please pray for her safety and a great time as she visits her daughter and family who are missionaries there.
Also, Mary Goddard is having surgery at 2pm today in Saginaw. Pray that things go well and that there will be complete success.

P.S.S. FOOD FOR THOUGHT AND A CARTOON FOR COFFEE DRINKERS

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
