NEWSLETTER ARCHIVE

Good Morning on the day after Easter,

This has been an incredible week for this pastor. We have had some wonderful times in God's presence during our Holy Week services. I want to thank our church staff, choir members, praise team, Gary in the sound booth, the Wolf Family for a great Easter breakfast, and Andrew in the office for lots of extra hours of work, practicing, and getting ready for these special services. I couldn't have done all this without the extra help.

I have had many compliments on the Good Friday service. Truly, God's presence was in our midst. I am so thankful for people that came forward and sought the Lord at the close of the service. Also, the service must have been good, as TV 5 News was there to record part of it. We did see our Praise Team on the news for a few seconds anyway.

Sunday morning was wonderful. We had a great crowd in both services. We believe an accurate count is pretty close to 200 for both services. Thanks to Doug Wolf for a wonderful Easter Breakfast, and thanks to our church staff for being in character and portraying a few of the various Bible characters that were involved in the death and resurrection of Jesus. I heard some very positive comments on how moving it was.

Now on this Monday morning your pastor is getting rejuvenated and ready for another week. I recently heard a man tell about an experience of his church going to see the "Passion of the Christ." As the film accurately portrayed the suffering, beating, and death of Christ, many in the theater were moved to tears. When the movie was over, one particular man in the group was a 92 yr old retired physician who walked with two canes. As the group walked out to the lobby, this elderly man sat down and began to sob loudly. Several walked over to him but didn't know what to say. As he regained his composure for a moment he finally spoke up and said, "He did that for me!"

I want to tell each of you that yes, Jesus did that for you. How long has it been since the magnitude of your sin and the realty of God's grace and forgiveness reduced you to tears? For most of us, it has probably been a long time. I encourage you on this first day of the work week to get caught up in the awe and wonder of the fact that the Son of God would give His life for you.

Were the whole realm of nature mine, that were a present far too small.
Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all.

Thank you Jesus. Have a great week.

Till next time, Pastor Don

P.S. Next Sunday morning we are privileged to have the singing group "Stronghold" with us for a morning of good Gospel Music. Please invite a friend and come and enjoy being in God's presence.
