Good Morning Church Family,

On this 12th day of February, I bring you greetings. I hope you are having a good day and experiencing God's blessings in your life. We had a good weekend. Our Men's Wild Game Dinner was a wonderful success. I appreciate all who came out and took part. A special thanks to Doug Wolf and his crew for preparing a wonderful meal for all the men. We had about 89 men there and took in about $1200 from our auction.

Sunday morning was a good service and I shared a message on the Secret to God's Power. Don't forget from the message that our goal should not be to become powerful, but to become holy with Christ's presence. Thanks to Pastor June for sharing Sunday night on the marvelous mysteries of God's grace. It was a very practical message, and it's always good to hear our associate pastors preach.

Don't forget Valentine's Day this Wednesday, men. Rest assured that your wife will appreciate and enjoy anything you do for her. It's the perfect opportunity to say, "I love you."

In thinking about love, marriage, and commitment, let me say that only Christ's love can keep a marriage together. The love of Christ is a sacrificial, other-centered love. It is 100% commitment. It is not a love that asks, "what’s in it for me?" There are those who mistakenly conclude that marriage is a 50/50 deal. They enter into it expecting to give, but with an expectation of getting that is equally strong. Such teaching is not found in the Bible. Marriage is a covenant without condition. Don't forget, God said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."

Let me sum up what I am trying to say in one verse - “This is how we’ve come to understand and experience love: Christ sacrificed his life for us. This is why we ought to live sacrificially for our fellow believers, and not just be out for ourselves." (1 John 3:16, The Message)

My prayer is that husbands and wives will not be out for themselves. Love needs to be renewed by our acts - including tender words, support, gifts, and affection. May it be so in every Christian marriage. Have a great week.

Till next time, Pastor Don.

P.S.  Alabaster Offering will be taken this coming Sunday. Bring your boxes as we are planning a great Alabaster March. Also, this Sunday, Nancy Wheeler starts her ministry at South Flint Nazarene. She will be the new person in charge of our Kidz Church Program. We welcome Nancy and look forward to her ministry.

One last request -- today please pray for Al & Naomi Card. Naomi's father, Jay Thomas is in critical care at Genesys Hospital. The ventilator is doing all his breathing for him now, and doctors feel his heart is weakening. Please keep his wife Marjorie in your prayers also.
