Good Morning South Flint Family,
This is the day that the Lord has made, so I am
going to rejoice and be glad in it. We had a
great day at God's house. Attendance was 151 and
what a blessing it was worshiping together. I
was grateful to God for His help with my
message. It's not a popular thing today
preaching against worldliness and not loving the
world. I hope my message, "Love not the World,"
was a help to you.
We praise God for all the ways He is helping us.
Even with the snow in the afternoon, Sunday
night attendance was really good. Thanks for
putting God first in you lives. Today, let's
talk about rejoicing and being glad. If you’re
around negative people very much, you know what
a downer they can be. Some people just seem to
always see the negative side of things, and
refuse to embrace hope or happiness. But as
Christians, we need to get rid of those negative
attitudes. That’s exactly what Paul did in his
writings. He was even in prison when he wrote
several of his letters, but he chose to rejoice
in the Lord! Paul would agree that your attitude
will determine your outcome.
Every day, we should make a decision to rejoice
and thank God, no matter what our situation.
Christians should be the most joyful people on
the earth! We don’t need to struggle all day
with fear or worry because we know that Christ
has everything in His hands, and He won’t let us
go.
Learning to rejoice each day is a process of
training and disciplining ourselves to serve
Christ and live in the joy of His love and
grace. We may get irritable and stressed at
times, but if the determination of our hearts is
to rejoice in the Lord, we can find the good in
everything.
You know the little chorus that says, "This is
the day, this is the day, that the Lord has
made, that the Lord has made. I will rejoice, I
will rejoice and be glad in it, and be glad in
it." That would be a good daily anthem to sing.
Choose to live your life today in the shadow of
God’s grace, and rejoice that He has given you
another day of life to serve Him.
CHRISTIANS SHOULD BE THE MOST JOYFUL AND
POSITIVE PEOPLE ON THE EARTH. ARE YOU?
Till next time, Pastor Don

JOKE OF THE WEEK: SISTER ANNIE
Last Sunday, Annie's pastor challenged his
congregation to be aware of opportunities to
testify for Jesus. Now Annie was certainly known
for her faith and her boldness in talking about
the Lord. She was known to stand on her front
porch and for the benefit of her atheist
neighbor, shout, "Praise the Lord!" resulting in
her godless neighbor responding, "There ain't no
God!"
When hard times set in, Annie stood on her porch
and prayed, "Praise the Lord! Please God, send
me some groceries." The next morning she found a
large bag of groceries on her porch, which
caused her to shout, "Praise the Lord!"
On cue, her neighbor jumped out from behind the
bushes and cried, "Hey, don't give God the
credit. I bought those groceries, He didn't."
Annie laughed, jumped up and down, clapped her
hands, and shouted, "Praise the Lord! God not
only sent me groceries, but He made the devil
pay for them."
