Good Morning Everyone,

It's a beautiful day here in Burton and it looks like we have a little snow on the ground. I hope you are blessed on this Monday morning. I know I am. We had wonderful services yesterday and God's presence was among us. I always thank the Lord on Monday mornings for victories at the altar. It was a good day yesterday. We had 148 in attendance and God continues to do great things.

For a thought this morning I want to tell you that Pastor Don hit the jackpot on good coffee this Christmas. We received bags of Starbuck's "CHRISTmas Blend," (Notice the emphasis) Pete's Coffee and Tea Company's "Arabian Mocha Java Blend," and their "Holiday Blend." On top of all that my friend Gary Burton, gave us a bag of The Coffee Beanery's "Ethiopian Blend." Needless to say I like good coffee and it has been wonderful. I was thinking this morning that the day of 50 cent coffee is long gone. We now have specialty coffees and coffee drinks like Mochas, Lattés, and you can even get a $5 cup of Grande Espresso Mocha Caramel Macchiato. You can even add various accessories to your coffee drinks like flavored shots, whipped cream, and even sprinkles. It kind of reminds me when Peter talks about adding things to our faith. One translation of II Peter 1:5-8 says it like this: "Do your best to improve your faith. You can do this by adding goodness, understanding, self-control, patience, devotion to God, concern for others, and love. If you keep growing in this way, it will show that what you know about our Lord Jesus Christ has made your lives useful and meaningful." (CEV)

Now there's a list of worthwhile things we can add to our life. Coffee accessories make the coffee taste better and give it character. Things like goodness, understanding, and self-control make us better and give us character also. Peter goes on to say, "If you keep growing in this way, it will show that what you know about our Lord Jesus Christ has made your lives useful and meaningful."

In closing, I want the Godly accessories so my life will be useful and meaningful for God. That is my prayer for you today also. I hope you have a great week. When you're having your favorite cup of coffee, breathe a prayer for your pastor. That will mean a lot to me.

Till next time, Joyfully Serving Him, Pastor Don

P.S. This coming Sunday night we have choir practice at 5:15pm All singers are invited. During the 6pm service, Pastor Shawn and the College and Careers Class will be preaching, singing, and sharing. Please come out and support our young people. After evening service, our teens are having a BAKED POTATO FELLOWSHIP fundraiser to raise money for BattleCry in April. I hope to see you all there.

P.S.S. JOKE OF THE WEEK: WHY ARE YOU YELLING THAT?

A painting contractor was speaking with a woman about her job.

In the first room, she said she would like a pale blue.

The contractor wrote this down and went to the window, opened it, and yelled out "green side up!"

In the second room, she told the painter she would like it painted in a soft yellow.

He wrote this on his pad, walked to the window, opened it, and yelled "green side up!"

The lady was somewhat curious, but she said nothing.

In the third room, she said she would like it painted a warm rose color.

The painter wrote this down, walked to the window, opened it and yelled "green side up!"

The lady then asked him, "Why do you keep yelling 'green side up'?"

"I'm sorry," came the reply. "But I have a crew of blondes laying sod across the street."
