Good Morning Everyone,
It is a beautiful Monday morning here in Burton.
We have been experiencing some wonderfully warm
weather and we also had a great time at God's
house yesterday. For those of you there, I am
grateful for your presence. For those of you who
didn't make it for one reason or another, I wish
you would have been there. Sunday morning I
preached on stewardship with a message entitled,
"If you want to keep it, Give it away." Sunday
night we had a good crowd and preached a message
entitled, "The Freedom of the Crucified Life."
It was a holiness message with several of our
young people coming forward and seeking a holy
heart.
This morning I would like to share some thoughts
about the debt of love we owe. Paul said in
Romans that we are to owe no man anything except
to love one another. Let's consider that debt
this morning. First of all, the Greek word there
is "Agape" which means "unconditional love,
devotion, and care." That kind of love feels a
sense of obligation. Who do we owe this kind of
love to? I believe we owe it to saints of God
who have gone on before and paved a way of faith
for us. We owe those who mentor us, those who
defend our freedom, those who encourage us in
the things of God, and even our family and
friends. Paul later in Romans says love is the
fulfillment of the law. I wonder why we
complicate things so much. God's Word makes it
easy. When we love our neighbor as ourselves, we
are fulfilling God's law. I believe if we make
every decision based on love for God and love
for others, we will always be doing God's will.
My prayer is that you will have a great week
paying back the debt of love. Your pastor loves
you and I want to be sure and tell you that this
morning.
Till next time, Pastor Don
P.S. Don't forget Parent's Night Out, Hanging of
the Greens, and Ladies Card Stamping Fellowship
this week. These are great events to be involved
in.
