Good Morning!

We had a good day of worship at South Flint yesterday. Pastor Bob brought a challenging message in the morning service about being in a pit, on a snowy day, with a lion (2 Samuel 23:20). He helped us consider how to handle “bad days,” in order to come out victorious. Thank you, Pastor Bob. In the evening service, I preached on the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. When the time comes, nothing else will matter. We need to be living in the reality of this expectation daily. When you think about it, living the way God wants us to and eagerly looking forward to His return, is all that really matters at any time.

Be sure to keep our work and witness team in your prayers. They will appreciate it and we all will be blessed as we partner together to support them as they minister in Arizona.

Following this note from me is Pastor Don’s Monday Morning Newsletter. He asked me to see that you get it along with the above report on yesterday’s services.

Blessings in Jesus,
Pastor June

Good Morning Church Family,

As you are reading this I am with the "Work & Witness" team in Phoenix, Arizona. We are having a good time working, witnessing, building, and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is a wonderful experience we will treasure forever. It's special because I get to be here with my son Andrew, and also because it's a beautiful day here and about 80 degrees. I feel sorry for you all back in Michigan.

This morning I want to share a word with you about the leading of God. There are times in our Christian journey when folks are not sure if they are lost or God is really leading them. In Exodus 3:8, when God met Moses at the burning bush, He told him that He was going to deliver His people from bondage and into a land flowing with "milk and honey". Yet, we know when God delivered His people from bondage, He led them directly into a "wilderness" where they spent 40 years. We know that their wilderness experience had a purpose because the Bible tells us that there was a shorter route available that they could have taken and avoided the wilderness altogether. Whenever God leads you somewhere He has a purpose and a predestined place for you, even if the route is a long or a dry one.

Often, your wilderness is the doorway to your promise. At the initiation of Jesus’ public ministry He was led into the wilderness first before He ever preached a sermon. If you are in a wilderness right now, remember what you learned while there because it will be necessary to sustain you in your Promised Land. Don’t faint or lose heart. You may be at the door of your promise and purpose. You may not have been lost at all. You may have simply been led!

That's an awesome thought for the week. In the difficult times we are not lost but we are led. Have a great week following Jesus.

Till next time. Pastor Don
